Teach financial literacy in school. The lowest income I can consistently find people online living comfortably with is $7k, with some DIY skills.

No, but abolish the income tax for at least half (maybe 75% or even up to 90%) of Americans, and in turn increase taxes on land and passive income (such as stock ownership or real estate).
